Sri-Ganganagar (Rajasthan) [India], December 30: The Seema Vandan Yatra, a pioneering initiative aimed at rejuvenating India’s border villages, concluded its first phase on December 27, 2024. This transformative journey, led by Nachiket Joshi, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist & Convenor of Manthan, Seema Jagran Manch, the Campaign on Rejuvenation of Border Villages, witnessed a remarkable exchange of ideas, collaboration, and community engagement.

Commencing from Somnath, Gujarat, on December 19, 2024, the Yatra traversed through several key border villages across Gujarat and Rajasthan. The route included Somnath, Porbandar, Dwarka, Jamnagar, Mandvi, Lakhpat, Tharad, Kelnor, Karamwala, Kishangarh, Pokhran, Longewala, Nachana, amongst other places along the route and culminated in Hindu Malkot, Sri-Ganganagar, Rajasthan. The initiative focused on understanding the challenges and aspirations of these resilient communities while celebrating their cultural heritage and contributions to national pride.

The Yatra explored the lives of residents in coastal villages, observing traditional livelihoods such as fishing and understanding their deep-rooted connection to the sea. Participants were inspired by their resilience and the meticulous practices honed over generations, which reflect the spirit of coastal and border communities. The team visited schools, interacted with children to inspire and understand their aspirations, and stayed in homes within the villages, gaining first-hand insights into the daily lives of border residents. Communities were felicitated for their resilience and bravery in living on the first line of defence, highlighting their pivotal role in safeguarding the nation.

On December 25, the Yatra paid tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary in Sonu Gram Panchayat, Rajasthan. The event featured heartfelt remembrances of Vajpayee’s leadership and an inspiring dialogue with village leaders to chart a path for sustainable development, emphasizing education, healthcare, and grassroots empowerment.

The Yatra also included meaningful engagements with religious leaders and members of the Border Security Forces (BSF), recognizing their pivotal contributions to maintaining harmony and security in these sensitive regions. Their insights and support underscored the critical importance of unity and collaboration in driving development and national pride.

Nachiket Joshi, remarked, “The Seema Vandan Yatra has been a journey of gratitude and purpose. Our border villages are not just geographical boundaries; they are the soul of our nation, rich in spirit and potential. Together, we will translate these aspirations into actionable development”, he further added, “Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been instrumental in bringing attention to the significance of border tourism. This initiative aligns with his vision to not only strengthen the infrastructure in these regions but also celebrate their cultural and historical richness, fostering pride and unity across the nation.”

One significant observation during these interactions was the migration of families in search of better opportunities, reflecting their aspiration for growth and progress. This presents a valuable opportunity to channel efforts toward creating sustainable solutions that enhance local infrastructure, generate livelihoods, and ensure these vibrant communities can thrive while preserving their unique cultural and geographical identity.

The initiative garnered active participation from a diverse group, including NGOs such as Wey We Empower You Foundation, Prakruti Environmental Protection and Research Centre, and RC Dalal Trust. Volunteers like Rishi Goswami and Bibhanshu Baibhav, interns with a deep passion for social impact, also contributed significantly. Additionally, the Yatra was joined at various stages by notable individuals, including Senior Advocate Devendra Saini (Supreme Court), Professional Ishita, Dr. Panav Manek, Assistant Professor Jagdish Bishnoi, Narendra Bishnoi, and others from academic and professional spheres. The Mumbai-based family business, Uniform Trader Inc, is doing new things for the world of business ethics. Its contributions during the Covid-19 Pandemic, providing medical kits and other protective gear to doctors and healthcare workers, helped deal with the surge of hospital patients. As society progresses, we need to work together; businesses’ contributions are welcomed, and they inspire the community as a whole. When Uniform Trader started taking orders for preparing medical uniforms, it supplied hundreds of orders for protective gear like surgeon caps, scrub suits, surgical gowns. NGOs and government authorities have also recognised Uniform Trader for its relentless efforts to support and serve. The firm considers its immense responsibility to impoverished families and organises programs to uplift the economically weaker sections of society. Uniform Trader, a brand that helped thousands of healthcare workers with medical equipment and supplies, continues its efforts by pledging 10 per cent of its profits to charitable causes. In addition, the company has launched education programs for children belonging to economically weaker sections. It ensures payment of fees, uniforms, and other stationery items to support their quality education.

Second Generation Entrepreneur and head of the company, Mr Hitesh Gadilkar, shared his vision for the company and said, “We are committed to outdo the best and innovate to adopt sustainability while serving our customers and performing our duty to social causes”. Currently, he is leading an education program for poor children and arranging everything they need for success despite their situation: food, clothes and hygiene products; classes on critical thinking, communication skills, add math – so they can be prepared for life outside school. He is on a mission to support every child in India to have access to quality education. Several customers have come forward to share this mission, and the efforts have also started showing results. There is a feeling among customers that their purchase with Uniform Trader is like contributing to the education of a poor child.

Small-scale family businesses can contribute effectively to serving social causes and be a pillar of strength for the entire social ecosystem. However, it is up to the brands to prioritise their motives and be socially responsible while protecting their financial interests. Brands like Uniform Trader have shown a way to be socially sensitive and reliable in business operations. Such companies are likely an inspiration to many other startups and established businesses to meet the social challenges India faces in local and global environments. Social Contributions are recognised and respected by potential customers of the brands, and it adds to the sustainability of the business. A great example of a socially caring and employee-supportive brand is the Tata Conglomerate, one of the founding pillars of independent India. It is undoubtedly an efficient way to share your success with social and pay back to those who helped the business reach such heights.

Combining brands to support the economy and serve social interests is a great way to build a robust societal foundation. The brands are benefitted from their social image, and their charitable deeds are paid back from what they get from the social ecosystem. Thus, it is a chain reaction that supports the outcome and enhances the input for boosting the results in the next cycle. For example, uniform Trader, a family business firm, shares a bond with society and contributes compassionately to the well-being of impoverished children. This engagement with social causes establishes a mutual relationship between the customers and the brands.

Family businesses like Uniform Trader maintain their legacy of serving society and valuing customer service more than purely financial gains. Calamities could not deviate Indian growth story because of the collective efforts of our industries and their ethics. Uniform Trader is an inspirational story for many other businesses to think ethically and produce sustainably. Management of Uniform Traders Inc. considers themselves lucky to contribute during COVID and serve the nation. They endeavour to continue their social service while providing their clients with the best goods and services.

The challenges of illiteracy, poverty and unemployment are critical impediments to the growth of our nation. Contribution of all sectors, especially industries and businesses, are most welcome to fight against these challenges. It is the collective might of professionals from different fields that India is progressing rapidly as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. But, the MSME sector of India and socially responsible companies like Uniform Trader strengthen the foundations of our fast-growing economy.

Nay.AI to provide timely clinical interventions in saving lives

The newly introduced healthcare platform “Nay” makes use of components of Artificial Intelligence to provide timely interventions for diseases.

Tension and stress due to medical uncertainties are ubiquitous. Health-related news of a family member or even self often makes people vulnerable. Gaping holes in the healthcare support systems turn into nightmares. Even with the best healthcare facility, no one can guarantee the right treatment.

In an attempt to bridge such vast gaps, a group of senior visionaries and industry leaders have designed Nay.AI; an ecosystem to provide just in time help to patients and intelligent decision support insights to doctors. This healthcare system aims to help UNSDG3 reach some of the goals with NLP (Natural Language Processing) and CV (Computer Vision) technology components of Artificial Intelligence. Timely and well-informed clinical interventions enabled by Nay.AI can save millions of lives in the days to come.

Avijit Guha, CEO at Nay, said, “Nay.AI is an equitable platform. We are bringing in a bunch of life-saving SOPs that will institute life-saving across socioeconomic classifications at par”.

The professionals in the core team of Nay have been working in the educational technology field for several decades. They have been developing software applications for dealing with education-related problems. The wide impact of COVID19 and rampant wrong treatments and ignorance around the subject influenced the team in repurposing their technology components towards saving human lives and building this history-making healthcare ecosystem, Nay. According to a clinical study at the University of Montreal, young brains lack the wisdom of elders. This gives the team of senior professionals at Nay who have extensive knowledge in their respective fields an edge over the youth-dominated start-up industry.

Mr. Guha mentioned, “We designed Nay.AI as the world’s biggest healthcare platform. Ignorance and lack of timely intervention are the biggest reasons for fatalities across the world. With Nay, we want to save as many lives as possible. We do not want people in the forthcoming world to die due to human errors or ignorance”. “It’s a long way to go; the platform is coming up brick by brick. The Neonatal and Geriatrics offerings will be available in India by the end of 2022.”

About Nay:

Many people lose their lives due to a lack of timely medical intervention or the non-availability of the right insights with the treating doctors. Understanding this need of the people for a healthcare venture Nay has been introduced. This healthcare venture aims to help UNSDG3 reach some of the goals with NLP (Natural Language Processing) and CV (Computer Vision) technology components of Artificial Intelligence. With the help of this, timely and well-informed clinical interventions can be provided to the patients during health emergencies.
