Bharti Airtel has taken a major leap in the world of internet connectivity by introducing Xstream AirFiber, a groundbreaking fixed wireless access (FWA) offering powered by 5G technology. This innovative solution is now available in Delhi and Mumbai, making it India’s first 5G wireless Wi-Fi solution. With internet connectivity being a crucial aspect of modern life, Xstream AirFiber aims to address the last-mile connectivity challenges and provide lightning-fast speeds of up to 100Mbps through a wireless connection.
The heart of Xstream AirFiber is a user-friendly, standalone plug-and-play device that allows for wider network coverage and lower latency, all thanks to the Wi-Fi 6 standard. This means that up to 64 devices can simultaneously access high-speed internet without any compromise in performance. What’s even more impressive is that all Xstream AirFiber hardware is manufactured within India, aligning with the country’s Make in India initiative.
Airtel recognizes the soaring demand for Wi-Fi connectivity at home over the past few years. With Xstream AirFiber, the company aims to bridge the gap and provide Wi-Fi-like speeds even in areas without a physical fiber network infrastructure. While currently available in Delhi and Mumbai, Airtel plans to expand its coverage nationwide in the near future.
As for the pricing details, customers can subscribe to Airtel Xstream AirFiber for Rs 799 per month or opt for a six-month plan at Rs 4,435 (including a 7.5 percent discount) with an additional Rs 2,500 payment as a security deposit for the hardware component. While Airtel is the first to launch a 5G-based fixed wireless access service officially, Jio also announced its version called Jio AirFiber a few months ago, claiming to offer Gigabit speed internet access using a 5G network. However, specific pricing and the official launch date for Jio AirFiber have yet to be disclosed.
It’s worth noting that both Airtel and Jio currently offer unlimited 5G network access to their subscribers on specific recharge plans. Customers can explore popular prepaid recharge plans from Airtel and Jio that offer unlimited 5G access across the country.
With Xstream AirFiber revolutionizing the internet landscape in Delhi and Mumbai, the race for enhanced connectivity is only getting started, promising a brighter digital future for all of India.
